About Joecy

Joecy Zhang is a Chinese Canadian blogger, model and photographer based in Canada. Joecy gained fame as an influencer for her lifestyle photography. Her work focuses on Fashion, Beauty, Food and Travel. Her work has been taken all over the world including North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

With a passion for social media, Joecy has over 100K followers on her Instagram account and over 23K followers on her Weibo (Chinese microblog) account. She has collaborated with more than 100 top-tier brands, including Yves Saint Laurent, Estée Lauder, Giorgio Armani, The Westin Hotel, the government of Canada, etc.

As CEO of MIDS, Joecy brings a wealth of experience in marketing for international fashion brands and significant social media influence with over 100K followers on Instagram. Her leadership will drive MIDS's strategic direction, focusing on client acquisition, innovative marketing strategies, and international expansion, drawing upon her extensive international working experience across various countries.

COMMUNITY MANAGER

GeniusX Inc., Arizona, USA

As the community manager, Joecy managed marketing, PR and community relations for the leading VR company, GeniusX Inc. GeniusX helps visionary educators and companies build the virtual reality experience of their dreams. GeniusX is creating the first VR education app, Retreat, that creates immersive virtual reality learning experiences in the Metaverse.

Social Media Marketing Specialist

Cloudhead Games, Vancouver, Canada

As the social media marketing specialist, Joecy managed multiple social media accounts and Discord for leading VR studio Cloudhead Games and all associated IPs, including award-winning Pistol Whip VR. She also established marketing and social media success metrics by managing marketing campaigns for product updates and brand awareness at the ideation, implementation and analysis stage. Furthermore, she planned, implemented and monitored social media marketing strategy and produced engaging VR content, including mixed-reality content to increase brand awareness and sales. Finally, she prepared and presented advertisement budgeting reports and campaign performance reports by analyzing data and tracking digital platform performance.

As the digital marketing specialist, Joecy created digital marketing strategies and increased social media following by 4,000+ and reach by 100,000+ over 6 months. She also managed Salon Magazine’s website, email blasts and weekly newsletters by using numerous software such as WordPress, Hootsuite, Sprout Social and Mailchimp. She developed the influencer program, including content marketing strategies execution, influencer relationships and campaign management. She produced digital content including videos and blog articles for the magazine.

As the event coordinator, Joecy organized major events like the Nissan Montreal Auto Show and the 2018 Nissan Innovation Seminar. Duties include strategy development, venue selection, equipment renting, budget managing, branding, and post-event analysis. She also produced reports for internal reward programs like Nissan Club Excellence and Nissan Award of Excellence, and planned rewarding events, such as the 7-Day Trip to Peru for the top dealers.

Royal Bank of Canada, Toronto, Canada 

As the design thinking co-op, Joecy organized events such as Design Thinking Lab Show Room, One Week Design Sprints, and RBC team events by creatively using problem-solving strategies to enhance user experience. She used Adobe Creative Suite to produce educational videos and graphic content for executives and customers explaining the concept of Design Thinking at RBC corporation events. She also managed budgets and became the primary contact for event vendors.

Marketing Specialist

As the marketing specialist, Joecy produced marketing plans and promoted NUS projects at numerous global events such as the 2017 Slush exhibition, Tech in Asia and TAD Hackathon. She hosted several events for the NUS Institute of System Science including annual Open Houses. She also created new web designs with improved UX for the school website.

Social Media Specialist

Apparel Group, Dubai, United Arab Emirates

As the social media specialist, Joecy designed event campaigns that are used repetitively in the official social media account for over 57 international brands, such as Tommy Hilfiger, and over 1000 stores in Middle East countries. She managed social media pages and strategies with nearly 2M reaches per week for each brand. Moreoever, Joecy prepared monthly Customer Relationship Management reports and weekly ranking reports after corporate events. She also photographed and created digital marketing content for numerous large events, such as Tommy Hilfiger Press Release, and the Dubai World Trade Centre Bridal Exhibition. 

Entertainment Marketing Operator

Beijing Weying Technology Co.Ltd, Beijing, China

As the entertainment marketing operator, Joecy designed and ran campaigns on WeChat for multiple Hollywood movies including Mission Impossible 5 and The Minion. The campaigns cover more than 500 cities, 3500 theatres and 80% of the viewing population in China. She maintained strong relationships with numerous international vendors to assist corporations in planning overseas events. Furthermore, she designed layouts for event web pages to create an engaging user experience for attendees.

Production Director

Jiang Su Television Channel, Jiang Su Broadcasting Co., Nanjing, China

As the production director, Joecy accomplished organizing skills from planning the shooting schedule, costume, stage design, music, lighting and camera placement for JSBC’s Show “Who’s Still Standing”. The show achieved the highest ratings of 1.504% among the same time broadcasting shows. She also assisted in the social media calendar and content strategy by scheduling appointments and interviews to recruit contestants through talent auditions.

Film Editor and Cinematographer

China International Broadcasting Network, China Radio International, Beijing, China

As the film editor and cinematographer, Joecy was comprehensively trained with professional film shooting equipment and she edited videos and photographs for CIBN's channels. She also remixed audios and arranged a radio program (HIT FM88.7) run-down for China Radio International.

UW Nail Salon has weekly meetings where students who love nail art get together to explore new nail art techniques! All tools and supplies are provided. We have a wide range of nail polishes and crafts. However, you’re more than welcome to bring your own!

UW SHOPPING CLUB

The purpose of the club is to teach students the ability to control budget. Explore the nearby malls by having organized shopping trips, become socially active and have fun shopping together. Each member will get a membership card once joined. The sponsors will have discount by putting their name on the membership card, the sponsors will gain more customers and students will save money while shopping, it benefits both sides.

UW Flashmob

UW Flashmob coordinates flashmobs, which is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and seemingly pointless act for a brief time, before quickly dispersing.

UW SPEED FRIENDING

The purpose of the club is to gather University of Waterloo students to meet new friends, network and have fun together. We hold weekly meetings, fun contests, social outings, and picnic trips. Here, it's the best way to build network and become socially active.
